Speeding ticket in Ontario
« on: June 12, 2019, 02:59:06 PM »
Got nailed by the O.P.P. (Ontario Provincial Police) on Sunday doing 111 kmph in an 80 kmph zone. Anyone know if Ontario has reciprocity with Illinois? Haven't found any answers on point. I may just pay it and hope for the best. There is no supervision option in Ontario. Either plead guilty and pay. Or second, plead guilty and ask court for reduction of fine in person. Or three, plead not guilty and have a trial. I'm just looking to avoid an insurance rate adjustment.

Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

I turn every ticket over to an attorney that specializes in traffic violations. Unless it is a reckless or negligent driving (which I have never had) I am not required to be present.

Doesn't that cost MORE in the end?

Surprisingly, no.

And I am not even factoring in the insurance robbery after the fact.

Bit of a nanny aren’t we for driving less than 70 mph?

Lol! Interesting exchanges and all valid points no pun intended on the "points" part. Or is it intended now that I am pointing out the pun and leaving it in?
My mind was in a very dark place when it happened. I made the appropriate speed modification for the rest of the trip afterward.

James Dean quote I believe, coming from his psa with Gig Young. Fair commentary on your part in light of Dean's outcome.

. Didn’t know the quote, but thanks...Good luck...fyi I once got a ticket in Arizona and was able to do traffic school at home in California to resolve it,so maybe that’s an option(don’t know about reciprocal agreements between other countries, however I would be leery of returning there if it is unresolved-you could be in for a nasty surprise)

I suggest you consult the following web forum: www.ontariohighwaytrafficact.com

There are a lot of very knowledgeable and helpful members there who can advise on the process and what to realistically expect. You might not get the answers you want, but you'll probably get the answers you need.

Good luck.

Claim math problem. 68 mph you thought you were going 12 under the posted limit of 80. You're American now and KPH no longer computes.
