Tower Style Hose Clamps
« on: August 01, 2019, 06:58:47 PM »
Folks,

How well do the tower style hose clamps work?

Since they’re correct, I believe, for the GT 500 heater and radiator hoses, I bought a set from Marty Auto Works. Now that I'm looking at them, I’m wondering how well they seal.

The car is a driver and I don’t want leaky water hose connections.

Thanks,
Bill

My opinion they are a better design than the worm gear style clamp.

I have them on my car and have no leaks.

I have had them on my car for 8 years, although in 8 years, I've only put on about 500 miles..  They work perfectly.

Be careful if you use a socket or wrench to tighten them.  The screws will twist right off!  Ask me how I know!     :o

Yes, they twist if you don't pay attention not to mention being a royal PITA to remove. I twisted one on the water pump to intake and I had to go get another set of clamps and water pump gaskets on my FE.
