You guys might have seen this footage before but new to me.   It's the story of the first 25 years of Watkins Glen.  Great racing footage
with Cobra track action at 13:30

Very cool, thanks for posting.

That wreck starting at 14:18 was pretty hairy!

Amazing piece of history. Thnx for sharing. Never seen it before.
It's great to see a piece like that because of all the history,....
But for track Dawgs that run WGI several times per year,...Priceless!

just saw that the other day... great history there.
How about all of those Allards in the early races?

1952 was a tragic year as mentioned in the film.
The SCCA president of the SCCA at the time, slid and hit spectators.
An 8 year old boy was killed.
Fred Wacker was the unfortunate driver that lost control.
Crazy # 8 Allard, as it was called.

It was the end of the Queen Catherine Cup Street race, and all other street racing action at the Glen.
Ben Harris was on the front row of that race.
Very few knew, that preparation had begun with Ben and Jim Kimberly, among others, to set out and formulate, build and become stock holders of Road America.

Quite an untold story that will be brought forth in the future.
If you visit the Glen, you will find Ben's stone in the Walk Of Fame.
Respectfully submitted,
John
Is this the first futuristic exotic in the world?
Size of an ac cobra, but built in 1935 !
