I didn't realize how bad the floor pan was.

Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

They should have done a better job just keeping it as it was found and just getting it rolling. Not even running but rolling. Kept it authentic

That's what I heard as well.

correct was going to be eleanorized, then found out that it was 558 the stunt car in bullit.

the whole world found out about this new and at the time one and only  bullitt mustang....

this caused the owner of 559 the true bullit car to take it out of hiding or announcing to the world of its presence

hello world I have the true bullit mustang

should be written up as a novel,  great drama....

Yes to writing a novel about it!

How does the story about Washington's hatchet go?

The handle was changed several times and it has a new head, but it is the hatchet he used to chop down the cherry tree????

    • And how many words have I got to say? And how many times will it be this way? With your arms around the future And your back up against the past You're already falling It's calling you on to face the music And the song that is coming through You

The family that owned the one here in the USA, knew what they had.  A very few "insiders" knew who had it and generally where it was.  The "news" of the other one did seem to prompt them to bring it out instead of in a garage.

It's good that the hero car is out in the light.  That was a special car to me in my formative years.

Some do not enjoy the attention nor the consent badgering from people would surely continue to try and buy the car. Know a number of owners that sort of wish they had not brought out their car to a show for that very same reason while many more than leave their cars covered in a garage or warehouse for the same reason.  This may limit how they wish to enjoy their car but its their car and their choice.

Plus if this can had been known of for decades and had allot of exposure it would limit the impact of the current situation and choices being made.
