That's the first and last time I heard of that car. Do any of the LA guys know of it?

How can an "un-numbered factory A/MP" '66 be traced back as a GT350?  IIRC, Ais the top of the Modified Production class so it would have some SERIOUS mods, and un-numbered?  I guess even if the car cannot be connected to SAI, it's got great history none-the-less.

I remember that article from back in the day. Thought it was a cool looking car with the exception of the taillights...

Yeah, Camaro tail lights.  WTF!  65 Shelby tac and oil gauges?  Kind of a strange Mustang Mod.  Maybe because of its owners notoriety it will generate the next "Eleanor" type series of repoductions and auction craze.   8)

If the flares were steel (and tamed in the rear) I would like it.

Back then, a lot of modding was done "just to be different." Getting attention was what mattered. Not necessarily appeal or good looks. My brother had a 68 Camaro with 64 T-Bird tail lights. My first car was a 72 Capri. I put 65 T-Bird tail lights on it.

"Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof" comes to mind. SAI never ( tough word to use)built an A/MP drag car. The "one" 427 powered (grafted Fairlane front end) '65 is accounted for and no others were built. IIRC the car was an A code fastback , nothing more. It hasn't "seen the light of day" LOL for many years. I seem to remember Eddie Paul having something to do with it.
