I know it's a line from a movie but it seemed like it made sense as I was "trying to pick up the pieces" regarding our buddy.

Many years ago, I recall that a famous race car driver was being interviewed and someone commented to the effect that they would've given anything to be a great race driver.  He quickly replied, "No, you wouldn't or you'd already be one."   Obviously, Jessi Combs gave everything.

Very sad to hear.

A non-car-guy friend of mine asked me why they didn't just use a robot for the top speed record, instead of a driver.

I told him he was completely missing the point. It's the HUMAN part that sets the record.

Otherwise it's just a piece of machinery.

Jessi gave her all. And will (hopefully) be long remembered for it.
