1967 GT500 Thermactor Gulp Valve to Smog Filter Canister Hose
« on: September 03, 2019, 03:24:45 PM »
Does the hose that connects the gulp valve to the port on the top of the smog filter canister have the same "alligator" texture as the other hoses?  Are any clamps used on either end of the hose?

No clamps either end typically. In comparison to other hoses its IMHO often found to have a smoother exterior surface compared to others in the system since it serves a different purpose though older used hoses can develop more of a texture due to heat, exposure and age

Like hoses used for air cleaner to breather or in smaller version PCV applications the hose would normally had identification ribs to identify the maker/provider of the hose

Mid year example. Forgive the age and patina (rust and removed original finishes) :)

The other hoses do not always have a pronounced alligator texture. Some examples more then others. The hose to the top of filter canister typically has less texture. I have seen the filter canister hose more times on survivor /undisturbed cars with no clamps on ether end or signs that any were ever there then with clamps .Typically restored examples invariably have clamps.
