Shelby Camaro?
« on: September 11, 2019, 11:01:07 PM »
Sold at Dallas Mecum auction, a 2010 Camaro with Shelby signature and bumper lettering.  Anyone know the story behind this?

If that isn't automotive sacrilege, I'm not sure what would be.

LV Shelby Performance also offered to modify Dodge Challengers for customers.

The Dodge I get, with the 80's-90's connection, but the Chevy is just out there. There can't be too many of those done.
If I were a GM guy I'd want a Don Yenko or Balwin Motion version, not a Shelby.

Since it has CS' signature, it may have well been done in the Shelby Performance Shop in LV years ago.  The shop no longer exists.  But not too strange when you realize that the Shelby Series I had an Oldsmobile (GM division) Aurora engine and the wiring and dash were reportedly from a 96-98 Camaro back then.   8)

Back during the lawsuit, Kopec, oops, can't say who, posted a picture of a urinal with "Shelby's" signature on it. The guy would sign anything...but not for free.  ;)

According to SA, the original owner did the Camoro as a "what if" Shelby had gone with GM instead of Ford.  All the enhancements are decals, including the dash signature.  Obviously, if there were any real connection to the CS and the Shelby American shop, the sale price would be far higher and it would have been a media gem over the years. 8)
