You get to your destination, the lot is empty. You decide to park in the furthest parking space, if it was even further you would be on the other side.  Then you look out the window...yikes!

You could have improved your chances of avoiding a door ding by 50% by parking in the end spot. On the positive side, careless drivers rarely take the time to back their car into the space, so you may be in good company!!!

Happens to me almost every time.  Usually it's a giant 4x4 pickup with wide-swinging doors and five people inside.  I drove my Kirkham two days ago and that's exactly what happened. I could see it from inside the restaurant and ran out to protect my baby.  The people in the truck were oblivious.

YES.
all of my co-workers make fun of me for trying to protect my vehicle (regular D.D.)...
we went to  lunch a while ago and I parked - as noted ^^ above - all the way to the far edge of and end spot. Exactly. Had a giant F350 right next to me when we came out  >:( :( :o

And if you park like a jerk (diagonal) you are really asking for it!

I fear the day I take my Ford GT and park out there, only to find I cannot open the doors.

Just parallel park it where there is only one space. Or get an end space. Or don't park it.
Have you driven it yet?

Not bad though, you got two vehicles that are worth something also, maybe they just want to know they too are parking safe.

On a different note, looking at how they parked next to you, their methodology assures that a door would be opening toward your Shelby on both sides even if there were no passengers in their respective vehicles.  Attacked from both sides by driver's doors.  Nice strategy.  It's almost as if by design that they wanted a door on each side to open toward your bodywork.  Extremely frustrating.  Ford GT?  Too good for any parking lot in my opinion.  You should have those red velvet ropes they use at movie theaters for crowd control when you park either the Ford GT or the Shelby and then have two ushers one on each side to monitor things.  In an idealized fantasy world of course.
