That was the place to be in the 70s if you had a cool car or just wanted in on the action. I spent many years there until the fuzz shut us down... lots of fun!

Great pic! i moved to So. Cal to late to experience Van Nuys but back in 72 I was on Woodward all the time.
Unfortunately I was all of 7 years old riding in one of my dads company cars.

I was born 10 years to late!

Yea, if my memory serves me correct, in that group of photos, there's a couple hot chicks in tight white shorts leaning against a 67/68 white FB with a guy sitting on the hood ;D

UPDATE: Found the photo

Mmmm- Mmmm That's the way it was, and they were everywhere. White Daisy Dukes, Jordash jeans , Dolphin shorts. Stuff of young mens dreams back then. Just opened the flood gates of memories. ;D

Also, in the San Gabriel Valley was cruising down Whittier Boulevard in Whittier.  Plenty of street racing there in the late 60's early 70's, until the police shut it down.  Nothing better than cruising in to Bob's Big Boy on a Friday or Saturday night.

Great shots. Thanks for sharing.

Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

We went there looking for something... Looking for chicks , street races , trouble. You would usually find at least one, sometimes all three. ;D

No matter what anyone says about California, I found it dreamy when I was there in 1994.

Angelos drive in in Orange County in the early 80s was a huge one.My buddy and I used to run down there in our 67 gt500s.Always created quite a “stir”... ;D
