Thoughts on Hershey 2019
« on: October 09, 2019, 09:11:14 PM »
This was my first visit to Fall Hershey.  Hershey was on my bucket list for many years and I have not been disappointed.

Statements from the Brochure ...
Moto - 65 Years and Still Shifting Gears
800 Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) volunteers to make this happen and over 330 acres of show space.
If you walk up and down every row on all the fields, you would have walked 20-21 miles.
Listen to the various languages as you shop the aisles and you will hear those who represent dozens of countries world wide.

Personal Reflections...
Vendors are hard working (primarily older generation) that enjoyed the camaraderie of Hershey and the sell of their parts/goods.
Although there were organized vendors representing larger, well known companies, the majority of vendors were mom and pop type establishments.
Ford Model A/T (or equivalent) well represented, but prices falling for cars and parts.
Ford Thunderbird - Best bargain at this time as quality cars range from 15k - 45k.
1960's Model Year - Steady to high prices for quality cars
1970's Model Year - Same as above
1980's Model Year - Not as well represented.

Pics from Corral and others ...

You also might hear interesting things people are saying or in this case singing. One year as I was always walking the rows, there was a guy who was walking next to me singing"Delightful, DeLovely, DeSoto".😁

I had a great week at Hershey.  My first Hershey.   I walked over 45 miles from Tuesday through Saturday.   A lot of pre-war parts and cars were there.  Not much for 60's parts/cars, but it was still a great time.  I did manage to find a few parts for my 60's cars, so it wasn't a total loss.  I really enjoyed the week.  My feet are tired.

A friend of mine bought lots of Pierce Arrow, Stutz and Lincoln parts for his projects.   The RM auction was a real treat.  I don't see those types of cars every day where I live.

I was lucky enough to run into Chuck Cantwell in the swap meet area.  Such a nice guy!  I also met Bill Collins, another very nice guy.

Happy I went, but I am not sure if I will go next year....other events to check out and my work schedule only allows one major event per year.  If you have never been, I strongly suggest you go, it is an amazing event.

Here are a few pictures of Chuck's GT350 at the AACA show yesterday.
Thank you, Brian Littlefield

A friend just sent me a nice clear VIN picture of the factory Paxton car, but no rear view either. I'll keep looking.

The 'Performance Cars of Hanover' '67 with the lemans stripes is a very sharp clean car. It was at Pocono - SAAC 40.

Thanks for the replay and added photos.

Just to be clear the first image in reply #11 is or is NOT car #1067 - no stripes and hollow raised-white letter tires???

The car with stripes and black wall tires is car #1067 or another car?

(photos of car #1067 I have from 3/21/18 does not have the supercharger but does have stripes and blackwall tires just looking for clarification)
