Barn find
« on: February 22, 2018, 01:45:25 PM »
I have just located a 1968 Shelby KR 500. Cobra ID 8T02R205320-03320 It appears to be complete. If has been laid up for at lease 17 years. Original paint "white" . I think original interior. Is there anything you can tell me about it.

Thanks

Mongo

Yes that is the car alright. Seems like a desirable car.? Not a great color.
I'm trying to buy it from second owner. First owner was a kid that had it three months and his parents took it away. Too many tickets. My guy, and old friend of mine, has had it since then.
Not too bad. Showing 92,000 mi. no body damage. no rust including floor pans. All ID tags correct and in place. Engine rebuild but never started. Has NOS parts in boxes to restore. Already have seen the car twice. Going to look at parts tomorrow of early next week.

Thanks for looking that up Mongo

He didn't have to look it up, he has it memorized along with all the other '68s, '69s and 70's   :)

White would be considered desirable big time on a 68.

Hi Guys,

White really?
I already have some pics on my phone. If I could figure out how to load them. I know how to do it to phones and E Mail but not sure to a website.

Thanks for all the feedback.

I have first refusal on it. He is asking 60,000 for it right now.

Go now, bring cash, yes, really
You don't want it, I'd take it for that

If you can send them to your email. You can save them on your computer and then post them here.

60K for what you're describing sounds reasonable.
Like Bill said, "Go now, bring cash"!

Hi Guys,

Well that gives me a lot of encouragement to buy it. The transmission and rear end were also rebuilt and never run. Ill let you know and I will see about getting you guys some pictures. I have probably 30 pics or so. All the ID tags interior and exterior etc. May go tomorrow to look at the NOS stuff. Has the original Shelby hub caps. Not great looking feature but it did come with them.

Ill get beck to you. Anything you want me to look out for?

Thanks again,
Tooeys

Hope you can make the deal happen.
As others have said, white is desirable.  Iconic Shelby color I think.
