Wow...interesting to see what the "THE PETROZZINI ESTATE COLLECTION" is fetching.

This 1968 GT500 was estimated between $20K-$25K and sold for $55K all in.

That is a pretty nice car really.

Anyone recognize the chin spoiler and know it's origins?

That's a pretty hot G.T. 500.

Its not original

I looked at the car today, shiny on the outside, but the body integrity was not strong in my opinion.

Black 4spd AC very rare

Car was original, but had been poorly repaired in the past.

That was my assessment.

I hope it gets done up like it deserves.  Each car has its own personality, so to speak.  Almost as if alive and begging to be brought out from the chrysalis.

Just being polite. The Black KR brought more than I thought it should ? IMHO. It appeared to be a Day 2 car . Odometer  read 2200 miles , aftermarket exhaust, incorrect distributor, carb, rims , solenoid, MSD ignition etc. as I recall. Blue KR convertible was a nice car and very rare. I haven't been around the Shelbys , as much as others on the forum. They both brought more than I had expected. Good for the seller.

As somebody who was also at the sale to inspect the cars in detail I will second Pete's statement that "all is not as it appears on the TV."

Agreed. I was much surprised by the selling price of both.

I realize that the blue KR is rare, but I have to believe that the new owner is already under water, IMO.

Labor of love.  Wasn't bought for a flip or a profit.  The gentleman who bought might have lusted for one over his lifetime and this was the grand opportunity to get what he wanted and could afford to keep over the long haul.  I understand him completely if this is the case.  For me, wouldn't matter if I was under water with big red.  Till death do us part.
