New 67 GT350 Owner Here
« on: October 26, 2019, 05:08:06 PM »
Hello,
I just bought my dream car; a 67 GT350 car number 2087..It's been a multi year search...the car is far from perfect but that's the way I wanted it. I don't plan to take it to concours levels, my plan is to make it a very nice driver and actually drive it... a lot... but I do plan to slowly fix the incorrect items the best I can. I've owned a 70 GT350 and a few 65/66 fastbacks but I've never owned a 67, as such I will have a ton of dumb questions in the next few years so please forgive me.

Dumb question number 1...did 67 GT350's come with a fan shroud?

Thanks!

Heartfelt congratulations! Feels good doesn't it? Mine was far from perfect being a 66 Hertz but that makes me love my car all the more. She's a part of my life and to a degree has defined who I am.

Best,

Question 2. I need my valve covers restored, I used a recommendation from this site previously but I lost the contact info... Can someone please proved a contact to restore a set of 67 GT350 valve covers?

Congrats!  As mentioned, you've come to the right place.

Truly, almost all of what I know (which isn't much ;)) about Shelby's was learned through this site or the people on this site directly.

And, there really are no dumb questions!
Nothing beats a classic!

Congratulations!!!

(are you sure the valve covers are originals?  Might want to make sure before you invest in them.  Maybe post a photo of both of them if you're not sure.)

Congratulations! I think I know the feelings that you are experiencing very well. I purchased 6S074 this year after wanting and waiting to own my dream car, a Carryover, for a very long time. I went through a lot of cars, K-codes, rare Cougars, and another '66 to get there, but it was well worth it in the end. Yes, it's far from perfect, but I love it and it's a blast to drive. I'm sure yours is as well. Again, congratulations and enjoy your dream car.

Congratulations on the purchase. The answer to your question is yes 67 GT350 came with a fan shroud. Genuine ones are relatively hard to find unfortunately and because of supply and demand are not cheap. There are lower priced repro alternatives however . No repro with the correct markings but similar in appearance none the less. I have genuine if a original one is a must have on the incorrect item list.
