Grant photo #2 should be Santa Barbara, due to the concrete surface and the tar strips.  Grant photo #3 is Candlestick baseball park.  I'd say the gentleman at the wheel of the Grant Cobra in photo #3 is John Olson his main mechanic, what looks to possibly be George Lucas (Star Wars) Grant's other mechanic on the passenger rear fender....I don't recognize the other passenger on the driver's side rear fender at the moment (looks like, Peter Brock, but it's not him and I can't read the name on the jacket).

Yes, Dodger Stadium in the one photo.

kranky

Allen Grant did not race at Dodger Stadium....it's Candlestick park (San Francisco, Ca.)...2026 and 2002 were the only Cobras to race at Dodger Stadium (March 1963).

sd427

Yep, I see it now, similar looking though.

Side-Oilers

Thanks, as always, kranky!

Wow Stan!!!

That was priceless!

Terrific footage of Lloyd Bridges driving the Silhouette (custom car built by Bill Cushenberry) and great footage of Ed Roth and his Surfite (designed by one of my favorite artists of all-time Ed Newton and built on a 1962 Mini).

And of course best of all is the awesome footage of Ken Miles and his son Peter and Ken driving the Cobra.

Stick with it, there is more Cobra footage around the 29 minute mark.

At the end, Peterson thanks "Shelby-American Motors".

Great stuff.

Cool stuff, and thanks (Phillip) for those additional details.

I think Ken Miles was not only the baddest to get behind the wheel of ANYTHING he drove, but out of the race car, he was just a cool freaking Dude, what with the sunglasses, no shirt, his stance, he was just BAD ASS 🏁🏁🏁

LOL, I like that one.  Must be holding Gurney for a penalty.

Don Johnston

Looking for good captions on that one. Preferably in English. 8)

This is what happens when you "hang" with Ken Miles. You adopt his ways?

It has it's benefits. Your reply cuts to the heart of the matter. Simple and succinct.

Speaking of Dan Gurney....

Here is one of his old Trans-Am rides kicking butt on the NASCAR Grand Touring (changed to Grand American in 1970) circuit.

Yes, this photo was shamefully pilfered from the internet, but it was so cool I had to share.

A client sent this to me for reference, I have recreated all of the decals for him to use on a tribute BME Grand Touring Cougar he has built.

That #16 on the roof is huge!

Back to this photo - it is Seiichi Suzuki at Daytona. For some reason there seem to be quite a few high quality photos taken of Suzuki and his Cougar at Daytona.

Phillip, thanks for posting that image of the Suzuki Cougar, new one for me. I have info that says seven Cougars ran in the Trans-

Am series, years not specified, but I think it was the early years '67 '68.

Moffat

Tatum
)-where these two the same car ?
Pendelton

Hagen

Bud Moore

Rainville ( X bud Moore ? written off at '68 Sebring)

Waco (Estes)  this one ran different colours, I think over two years

Info I have says only three exist ?

I have images of all of these in my files, Should we have a separate thread for these Cougars, and the ones that ran in the

NASCAR series ? Or are they covered somewhere else here, or on another forum ?
