Can any one i.d. these GT350s at Elkhart Lake, Road America, I believe June, '65 ?

You can see the smoke from the restaurant in the back ground, I can taste those brats  ;)

Mike,

My records show three GT350s in that race:

Number 3 driven by Lynn Blanchard - 5S145
Number 11 driven by Tom Yeager - 5R094
Number 33 driven by Dan Gerber - Either 5R099 or 5R103 perjaps someone can verify.

Mike I am not sure that you have the correct race. The number 33 car with that paint appeared in only one race before being repainted to the original white with blue stripes as instructed by Shelby. Bob had the car on consignment and returned it to Shelby at the end of the season. That car was 5R102.

The #33 GT350 is 5R102 driven by Dan Gerber since Bob Johnson was in a Daytona Coupe at Le Mans on the same weekend as the June Sprints at Road America.

Mike, great photo find!

The three cars Dennis notes would have raced at the same events as they were all competing in that SCCA Regional class.

My notes suggest 5r102 (#33) raced with the gray/scarlet paint scheme for 6 events.
The 5/15/65 race at Cumberland shows it in white. It doesn't appear in photos as white again until 8/8/65 at Lynndale Farms.
I've only found photos for 3 of the 6 events so far (RA, St. Jovite, and Mid-Ohio) showing it in grey/scarlet.

Kranky, great point made on Dan Gerber racing 5r102 at RA. Thank You.

Coralsnake, thanks for that link what a great set of photos, from another era, the post war years.

Thanks to the others as well for your input.

Here are two more photos from that set with the two GT350s, marked June '65, maybe they will help us clarify the date.

Here's a couple more I found.  8)

is the Daytona CSX2287 ? that is a pretty cool photo, lots to see ! where at the facility is that taken ?

I believe that is the Turd ? in primer, ready for paint.

Is this the Miles car, next to the Turd, there is  another photo if it in another thread, in  the paddock at Riverside ? that was

discussed here before by Szabo and others, has the BRDC (British Racing Drivers Club) decal on the door

(all pics: Kevin Leslie) is he some one who worked at Shelby ?
