Good lord... they launched the 67 like they were pulling out of their driveway. Boo

FL SAAC

agreed kind of a poor run, believe it turned 15s in the 1/4 mile

but having said that,  last time we slipped the clutch on one of ours, we took a motor mount out, that took the fan out, that took the shroud out, that also took the radiator out. Oh yes completely shredded one rear tire...close to $2,000 worth of damage in parts only...they said it would be fun...

Well they are both autos......That being said if the 67 is stock it has 3.25 gears ,the new one something more "trackable "methinks.....size matters....Itwouldnt be quicker than the new one but it sure would improve the launch. ;)

Not to mention i imagine quite a few of the original ponies under the hood of the '67 probably have left the barn. But i have to agree that was a very sedate take off.

With a set of gears, a good converter, decent tires and a FRESH 428 the OLDIE could rip off low 12s easily. I think their point was to say look how this new thing runs which anything with high 700 hp should run. Our in house drag race specialist Randy knows more about drag set ups than myself but if I had almost 800 horsepower on tap I feel confident I could build a beater to spank this new car at a way better price point then this new car. That's what I think is fun as opposed to plunking down a wheel barrow full of money at my local dealer and going racing... Everyone likes something different.  ;)

the new one will skunk me by two second +/-, but who cares...still have a lot less money in ours than the new one costs.... abracadabra !

Well I hate to break this to you but I would NEVER do that to ANY vehicle.

And ALL our vehicles are trailered to and from shows.

That photo was cleverley photo shopped

To prove it here is another photo of the same vehicle. One with no smoke and the other photo emitting smoke.

You see how its done, it's all smoke and mirrors just an illusion, abracadabra !

LOL, that looks more like your passenger's emissions after a truckstop meal of pastrami and onion rings.

You saw the movie Gorillas in the Mist.  Now coming to a theater near you:  Shelbys in the Mist.
"Low she sits on five spoke wheels
Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

BGlover67

"The '67 is worth about $110K, because it's a driver."  Really?  Seems a bit low.

Wouldn't they have seen a better run time for the classic GT500 if they had found a 4 speed instead?
Thanks,

No doubt.... but this thing will do 10:80s @ 133 , so reported at least right off the shelf. And the next w-end you can do a little programing change, go road racing and be competitive right out the gate, just add meatball.
