Assembling the team, already starting to plan.

We used a new format last year at Pitt which we felt worked well. We'd like to try it again, small tweaks if needed. Invitation to all who plan on attending to comment. Please see the Popular Ballot Car Show topics in the SAAC-44 section for the specifics. Here's a link to the thread from last year which spells out the votiong, parking, and general details: http://www.saacforum.com/index.php?topic=4533.0

Of course, much to early to talk about where it will be inside the track, etc etc...

Looking forwards to seeing all of you there!

I thought it was a good idea. We really enjoyed walking around checking out the cars and getting to know the owners. Many were very appreciative when we dropped out tickets in their envelope. Good way to do the people's choice. Thanks

I enjoyed the car show and judging at last years convention.  I believe it went well.

Don't see a section on proper procedure for soliciting bribes.  Needs update. ::)

I usually bring a rental car.  I have no class.

Neither does the car.  So we match. 8)

My wife and I have already volunteered to help with the popular vote car show at Indy. The format is quite a bit different then the norm, but if you guys like it, we are willing to help with it.

Merry Christmas!

Thanks for all the work you have done over the years Dan.  It's much appreciated.  I wasn't there last year.  However, I attend all sorts of local shows as both a spectator and entrant.  I've seen things that boggle the mind that owners do in an attempt to manipulate voting results so they can get a lousy trophy.  I've seen this at our own SAAC convention as well...people trading tickets with each other without even seeing the cars....Would anything prevent a trophy hunter from simply putting all 25 of his top 25 tickets into his own envelope?

Cobrask8

Yes, the method used had a safety built in. Each entrant had his voting tickets numbered with that same number as his entry number. When counting, we eliminated all duplicate numbered tickets in any envelope by throwing out all duplicates. A little more work in preparing materials and organizing, but the payoff worked.

If I recall, we did not have much "stuffing" this year. And the results seemed to come out fairly well on their own.
