1965 tach and oil, original or repo?

The biggest clue on the tach is the center. You will note that the "common" reproduction (there is another one that is correct) has the black round decal in the center of the lens.

The original had a disc in the middle. Below is a picture of an original.

Other obvious differences include pointer shape and the location of the two black screws on the face of the tach.

Interesting ops pic shows tach at 1100 RPM yet oil pressure at zero?

Also, if you really look close, where the thick 1000 rpm markers intersect the "10" and the "70" they are at different places in the numbers.

It's nice when others share reasons for inaccuracies instead of just saying wrong, not correct, repo, etc,etc.

This forum is the best "Learning Tool" to teach us all about these all important cars and their parts since we all know that the parts are very scarce and expensive when/if found. So that we don't get screwed from the potential seller, which sadly happens constantly on eBay, CL, etc.....

When the ignition is off on an electronic tach the needle will stay at about 1000 rpm. If you turn the ignition back on and then off, the tach needle will move to '0'.
