This has probably happened to all of us with '68s:

Random guy ogling your '68 at a car show/parking lot/gas station:  "Cool car. Those Shelby brake scoops are bad ass."

Me: "Well, they're not functional."

Guy: "Huh?"

Me:  "The lower scoops are not functional on '68s. They're just for looks."

The guy then gets down on his hands and knees to look inside the scoop.

Guy: "That sucks."

Me:  "Have a nice day."

My scoops are functional. I have no conscious about them. I took more crap about why a Ford should have a roll bat in it?

Mostly fron de Bronx Chebby guys. That was 30 - 40 years ago.

One of them came to me a couple of years ago and said "I thought you were a retard. You kept the three cars. Now it makes you look like a genius?" Sour grapes. Screw 'em all.

Never underestimate the enemy. I know. Sometimes it's hard. They need to elevate themselves just  to get  to stupid?

Doug, What I found interesting is how much it helped stiffen the vehicle. I don't see the lateral movement on a lift that I see on most mustangs.
We've also seen pictures of more than a couple rolled Shelbys that had the bar not been there, likely the story would have been different for the occupants.
Either way, someday the Chebby and Dodge girls testes will drop.

I think that the RB stiffens the car also.

As far as the Mopar and Chevy guys go, first off, why would anyone want to put a Hemi in a Taxi cab with push buttons on the dash for power shifting?

As far as the Chevy guys go here, at my 20 year HS reunion, most of them were missing.
When you get sentenced to life for murder in NY, you don't come up for parole until 25 years?

I get it entirely. ;)
