I have a 1969 GT500 (A/T, A/C) that needs a distributor. What is the correct part number to look for? Also, I was given a C7AF 12127 AC distributor that was told would work?  I also have access to a C8OF 12127 J DISTRIBUTOR.  OPINIONS please?

Royce Peterson

First of all the C8OF 12127-J distributor is correct for the car. If it's available that is the one to get, provided the date code is within reason for the car's actual scheduled build date.

The other one is not for a 428 but it could be re - curved to work just like the correct one. The problem will be the appearance, the incorrect numbers will always be there. It would be a value hit come sale time, and would be a points deduction at most shows where the car is concours judged.
