Mecum Kissimmee Auction - Today
« on: January 10, 2020, 10:54:21 AM »
It will be a very interesting day today watching no less than 17 Shelby Mustangs going across the block at Mecum Kissimmee.

Everything from '67 #168 to several '66 Hertz cars and quite a few 69/70's.

Everyone of course is waiting with baited breath to see what the Bullitt car goes for, but this day may start to set new expectations for current values on our cars.

Yesterday there were 4 cars.    '66 Hertz, no sale at $110k.   '70 GT500 modified, no sale at $82k,   '68 GT500KR Conv, no sale at $140k,   '69 GT350, sold at $70k.

On the no sale cars, you cannot believe the high bids as the auction reserves the right to Shill bid the cars up to close to the reserve.

Are you here at the auction? I am, too! If you’re here, I’d be happy to say, hi.

There are a batch of Shelbys about 10 cars away from crossing right now.

And, I will add that I quickly looked over most of the vintage Shelbys here. I would not gauge the quality of cars by either the pics nor bidding.

Nothing beats a classic!

No, I'm not at the auction.  I will be at the Mecum auction in Vegas in 2 weeks time.
Yes, I know pictures can tell lies and understandably so.  We've just seen in the past a feeding frenzy on vintage Shelbys and it looks like that may be starting to wane.  I've watched this auction since last week and sometimes there is no rhyme or reason to why one car gets bid higher than another.

Yesterday the '69 Boss 302, Acapulco Blue looked like a really stand up car that sold quite a bit cheaper than it would have in the past couple of years.
Sorry I missed you !

On a 1-10 scale, how would you rate '67 #168?

The place is already packed! Almost every seat (even in the upper deck) is full.

I’ve never seen it this full.

Seems like some decent prices for Mustangs today.   K-codes bringing some good money let alone the Bullitt at 3.4m plus comm.
