I was happy with their door panels, as I think most people have been.

There is a used, original set in the classifieds that need restoring, perhaps get those and send them off to Just Dashes for a rejuvenation.

does the guy down in the Carolinas still do door panels? Do you know who I am talking about?  His name escapes me but his were dead on when they were done. I compared my panels at the time to many original panels I had and still have.

Over the years all the repo panels I had seen I could tell right away by the grain they were repos. Are these dead on with the grain?  I am fortunate to have a nice original interior in my vert. Gary

Gene Painter is/was the guy that recovered originals.
I cannot honestly say the repros grain is perfect, but they do look good.
I am not much of a concours guy though, surely someone will chime in.

Thanks for jogging my memory. I had some sets done by Gene over 25 years ago and they were great. 1st set by Mid Mi Mustang and when they shipped them to me they didn't bother taking Gene's name and address off the box. LOL. Gary

I just sent a pair to Gene Painter.  Spoke to his son who said it'd likely take 6-8 weeks.  I'm in no hurry so I boxed them up in a bicycle box (Painter's suggestion) along with NOS weatherstrips and Drake pull cups.  The son (whose name escapes me) said they could fill in the speaker cut outs that my panels originally did not have.  I've heard good thing so fingers crossed.

They filled one of mine with fiberglass but it was a round hole. I fixed some myself and not too hard. Can I ask you what his pricing is for recovering a pair? Thanks. Can you message me his contact info or does he have a website. I have a LOT of door panels and want to start getting them recovered before Gene stops doing it. Gary

I would also like to get the contact info. It would be nice to have for the future.

First two pics are of original door panel grain, other 2 are ~ 12 year old repros from Mustang Market. I have heard that theirs are closer now.
While maybe not good enough for concours, they are plenty good for a normal show car or driver IMHO.

Can someone get me Gene Painters contact information also I need to have the door panels on my GT350 restored

Thank you,   Dan
