FE 90 degree hot water fitting

Are these Brass on our cars? Same as the part used on iron manifolds?

Same part but not brass on aluminum or cast iron intake. They are steel . I am guessing that you are confused by thinking the zinc gold (zinc dichromate) finish on some is brass.  FYI apparently both zinc gold and zinc silver were used in production.

I have a steel unit now (needs to be replated) but I keep seeing the brass units for sale described as correct for the 428.

Somebody is smoking the good stuff! Ford never made any of them in brass. They were steel with cad or zinc plating.


I have a steel unit now (needs to be replated) but I keep seeing the brass units for sale described as correct for the 428.
