I saw one of these in San Antonio, at Lackland AFB. For years, they thought I was on crack. A pretty car for a coupe in a greenish color.

They are out there,  unfortunately the iwbers5dont want to reveal because they keep facing resistance from others.  Oh thats not a Shelby.....

Reminds of once upon a time a 1967 Shelby convertible appeared.

A lot of people said, no such thing.....never made a 1967 Shelby convertible....

Boy where they wrong

Odd in that most of the pictures that come up when you Google "Shelby de Mexico has the emblem placement all over.  There isn't much consistency.  I've seen the snake emblem either on the roof panel above the wheel, on the front fender above the GT 350, or, no snake emblem at all.
Plus, it is the same with that thin rocker moulding, either the car has it, or, not at all.

I agree with you no consistency, guess they did not have adequate instructions. Possibly whatever was available on that day got slapped on
