For our good friend Randy Gillis. This was drag racing at SAAC 35. It was nice to see real GT350's still at it. 6S477 was staged against that silver 67 coupe from FE Specialties big block drag car...Good times

Looking for more of this at SAAC 43.

Cheers,
~Earl J

Also Ron Tredway's SFM5019 took a run or two with that FE Specialties car. 5019 is more of a road course car than a drag car, and Ron is no slouch as a driver. Obviously the silver coupe ran away, but if you consider the previous set of photos against 6S477, this will give you some context as to how fast Randy's 6S477 is...

We both did. Notice the Yellow is hanging on my side too! The silver Mustang was FE powered and a little over a half second quicker than mine is. The "look" my car has is what I would like to see in the "Original" class  ( 8 car limit) that will be racing for real $$$s . Th eother Mustang would be in the "Outlaw" class that will also be 8 cars and racing for $$$s. These will be "heads up" , first to the finish line wins and comes back until only one winner is left.

Hard to believe it has over 4,000 runs on it during my ownership. Thanks to Earl for posting the pics. Drag racing "SAAC style" is all about fun. Run what you brung. No tougher on your car than doing the same on the street except MANY time SAFER.  Run as many times as you want, race a friend or just the clock. We have yet to have cars still wanting to race by the last ten minutes of our three hour time.  This is in contrast to me getting TWO runs in a three hour time frame at my local track on a normal race weekend. Fun for all and we will have a race announcer too!

Here's the link to my YouTube video from SAAC35. There's some drag racing action in there. 6S477 appears later in the video during the drag racing part.

Sorry, but I can't figure out how to actually embed the video in the post. If that can be done on this forum, please let me know.

Over 4,000 runs?!?!  How awesome is that!

Enjoying them like they were intended.  Big thumbs up!

Yes indeed over 4,000 runs. This is one Hertz car that has seen it's fair share of the strip. .No worse for the wear and probably less than it would have had from street driving for the last 44 years. Can you say original floor pans and body panels?
