I have a April 1965 3259 Holley 715 that is absolutely complete and original, it does need to be rebuilt/restored. My intent is to use this on 6S281 but I would be willing to do some trading for a July, August, September unit in better or comparable condition. I can live with the April 65 unit on my early 66 but I am also all about helping others in our hobby improve their cars. PM If you have any thoughts on this. I am not interested in selling this unit out right.
Thanks, Karl

You might want to hang on to your Holley.  Are you sure it is not original?  It could be...I also own an October '65 build Shelby and it has an early date carb as well.  Some research may be to your benefit before you consider trading for a later date.

Thanks Gary, do you happen to know the date on your carburetor?

I own #406 and its carb is dated 552 so May '65.  I cannot with 100% certainty say it is original but for me, I see no reason to look further.

Steve, thank you very much for the information on your car. Perhaps my carburetor is more closely match to 6s281 than I realized.

PM sent. I have a 581 date code and would prefer a 541 for 6s081
