That car is such a turn on!

Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

That would make for a very good discussion. Will there be money in the room to buy it. I am assuming it will be a reserve car so no one is going to steal it. Will bring lots of Hype and hopefully bring some money to the auction. I remember when the Daytona Coupe was at Indy and how the room was electric with all the people and other Cobra's that were there. It was a very cool auction. I'm guessing this will have the same atmosphere..... however will it even go on with the 50 people event limits. If I was guessing the auction will be pushed back to later date. There may be someone looking to park their money in a car and not the market, so it could actually drive the price up? Great conversation starter as we are all working from home or locked in our basements.... 8)

This is the only car from John's collection being offered with a reserve.

It'll be interesting to see how things pan out.
Nothing beats a classic!

Mecum just postponed March and April auctions.  We'll see what May brings.

i m pretty sure it's not a good time for it , the market crashed , people with money for sure ad some money invested , (remember until now it was only going up since 2 years),
and i m not sure many got out before the crash so it means they can't sale now to get some cash flow to buy a multi million dollars car ... it will reduced the number of buyers and for the other cars too ...not even talking of the business difficulties coming with the restrictions from Coronavirus...if you want to sale a car , better wait things calm down ....

IMHO, yes as for sale price. Anyone in the know knows this is on the market......virus is a distraction for the investors and that's ok with most I think.....I think the Shelby folks are watching and putting plans in motion accordingly. Never say never and enjoy but don't fall in love with 'em.....it a hard thing to do sometimes. So much history....

I don't see it beating the Bullit Mustang. That had a bigger market - movie memrobilia, Mc Queen, Cars in general. 5R002 has only Shelby owners. This will not be the buyers first or only Shelby. The money will probably not "be in the room". The buyers have already decided how much they will spend on the car and will submit those bids whenever the car is offered. If the reserve is anything over 2 million it'll be a no sale.

This car doesn't have the "celebrity factor" that the Bullitt mustang did, nor is it being hyped to the same degree. I would guess this car will sell somewhere around $1.5M. That said I would much rather have this car.

Bullet probably will hold the record.

Movie cars just suck the reality out of people. Eleanor is a prime example.

I suppose the "Movie cars" can be put in some sort of a tourist trap "museum" and can make the suckers shell over twenty bucks to see them?
