I've been a SAAC member since 2010 after buying my White 1966 Hertz while on vacation in the USA and then brought it back to its new home in Australia, and then also added a Highland Green 1968 GT500KR in 2013.

I've notified Howard Pardee and Vinnie Liska of my cars when I got them.

I'm interested in buying the 1966 and the 1968 Registry but before doing so I'd like to know what the registry publication has in it compared to the Annual Shelby American that we get with our SAAC membership.

in my opinion there're worth it, much known history on all cars of that year, variations within that years production, production stats etc,  great books.

How up to date are the ownership details contained in each year registry.

You would have to get data from each individual Registrar but I can say that as far as the '68s go Kopec made it a point of updating each and every car and wanted pictures of each.

Having said that, there were cars that there have been no updates on since the first entry and in some cases that in fact could be from around 1970 with the Jim Cowles registry.

Some cars at one time only showed up from the Ford copy of the original window sticker or service records under warranty.

Perhaps Rick could tell you, us, how many cars were successfully updated and how many are still unknowns? He hasn't posted here since the crash and I wouldn't expect that to change anytime soon?

Interestingly enough, at least to me, there still appear to be about a dozen 427 Cobras with blank spaces for know ownership? So apparently, there are still unknown cars still out there? So good hunting.  ;D

Its hugely updated. The 1968 Shelby Registry is current as of the end of last year, many entries include photos. I have it and its well worth the money. Highly recommended.

Gary ,I think you would be pleasantly surprised to read and will not believe all of the additional information in the updated registries published after 97 .
