"Low she sits on five spoke wheels
Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

Oldest petrol car perhaps, this steam powered De Dion et Bouton predates the Benz. In any case neat cars all around.

We had a nice htread about those dinosaur cars some time ago here. The Benz is a replica.... not the original.

Interestingly enough Karl Benz wasn't inclined to introduce his new automobile to the public. His wife drove the automobile without Karl knowing for a 120 mile trip and the rest is history.

Here's a short video made by Mercedes that dedicates Bertha Benz's initial trip.

I think she was the better business person of the two, realizing that something needed to come of their investment in her husbands' tinkering, and the not so off the cuff trip perhaps demonstrated her promotional awareness also.
