Nice Craig! I was thinking about going looking for '06 # 477 but haven't taken on the task yet. It would be nice to have matching vins .

06H477 has some interesting history. The very first rental customer, from LAX, was auto journalist James Groth who featured the car in a article written for Auto Aficionado magazine. Later in 2006, #477 was rented by Joerg Maltzan, Autobild editor, and featured in 2 Youtube videos where it was driven.........how can I describe it.......spiritedly?

Thank you!!! 6S477 was LAX based too. Maybe in it's "thrashed" condition it would be "affordable" for me LOL.  Any idea where it is now? ( I know I'm being lazy and should look for it myself)

The expression "CA black plate" used to mean that the car had been continuously registered in California since the 1960s.  That is no longer true, as you can now retro-fit the old style yellow on black plates to 1960's era cars.  But when you see a vehicle with a stack of yearly registration renewal stickers, it is a pretty good bet the car is a lifelong California car.  This Shelby, I think from 1969, spotted at a 2018 gathering at the Shelby facility in Gardena, is a one owner car.

My dad had this one on his Cobra while he had it...

Unfortunately, I don't know where it is today. All I can tell you is that it was registered in San Francisco from '08 thru 2012.

Many thanks. I may start looking.

Mr Hank Williams. Am hoping that Jay Leno gets Hank and his Cobra on his show eventually. Would make a great episode.

Hank is a super nice guy.  Attended many car shows with him.  He greets everyone with smile, and any young boy or girl is welcome to sit in his Cobra for a photo.  I heard him assure the parent, "it is okay, what can they hurt".  He would be an interesting story for Leno's show.  Much better than some in the past.

What a great looking car!  I love the hard top look, too.
Nothing beats a classic!
