These four slides are currently on eBay, pretty cool. Dated to Sept '63.
Looks like Carroll standing on the rear of the trailer with his hands in his pockets?

Ken was the Coolest of the Cool.....
Sunglasses, most of the time, Shirtless with his lanky frame.
And one HELL of a Driver!!
Brian, thanks for posting ! great images.
Looking at the sandy environs, looks cool, you can see the trees bending in the wind in one of the first pics, people are bundled up,
looks early A.M. I would guess September, Bridgehampton N.Y., Sandy at Laguna Seca as well, but the trees etc ? ? might be Elkhart Lake, but I don't think so ? ?
Any one ? kranky ? you know your stuff !
honker
I believe those are from Mid Ohio.
Image BG6 is clearly exit of Mid Ohio carrousel leading to pit straight at start/finish. Pit entrance also shown.
BG5 shows Miles chasing a Corvette over the hill in the esses (turns 4,5,6)

I agree those are Mid-Ohio in the (early) '60's
Don't know where I got this image, but it is Carroll and Ken Miles at Mid Ohio.
Maybe same weekend, red #98. Probably 1963(?). Anyone know the CSX?
I think the dark #33 in one of the other pictures might be Bob Johnson, but not sure.
Any ideas, JD?
Here's the image this old guy forgot to include!
Jim Cowles emailed me saying he thought it was Mid Ohio also.
Looking at the KRANKY list Sept 21st & 22nd 1963 was a 2 event weekend
on Saturday Holbert took 1st o/a in GT driving CSX2137
on Sunday Miles took 1st o/a & 1st O 2L driving CSX2129
#33 was Bob Johnson in CSX2026 DNF on Saturday
so Tom's photo with Ken & Carroll would be the victory lap on Sunday.
I wonder if this was another weekend where the drivers flipped a coin to choose who would take the flag in each race ???
regards,
jim p
Thanks guys for the i.d. Well I had that wrong ::) as to which track those were taken at ! It wasn't till the last photo of Carroll &
Ken, that I recognized the track, from the fencing in the background.
