It is the future. :-\
With the recent restrictions by executive order on fossil fuels and future restrictions, the future is closer than ever... :'( >:(

Why not kill the mustang we killed our country late last year.
Ford is claiming "good sales" of the electric "Mustang".
It's not a Mustang to me but I'm old and cranky with expectations. Silly me.
It will keep you happy with fake gas engine sound through the speakers like my 2020 Explorer ST has. It is a couple of decibels louder in the Sport mode. I can' wait for the track performance Mach-E model with parallel stripes over the top to make it faster.

Ford is 110% onboard with the death of the gas engined car In fact they want to kill the "car" all together in favor of SUV like passenger pods. Never mind there will never be a cheaper cleaner fuel in the near future.
An F150 was on my radar. Not some POS ecoboost V6 but a real V8 loafing along towing our travel trailer or race car. Now it's not going to happen. They spray the cylinder liners in - just like Chevy sprayed the pistons of the Vega. Looks like it will have be a Chevy with a dead reliable LS and real cast iron cylinder liners. That is if you can change the headlights without needing to replace the whole $600 housing because they have sealed in LED bulbs like on the Volt.

Pretty sure those spayed in liners are working pretty damn well.
35 years of technology helps quite a bit.
I do agree FoMoCo is ok with the impending death of the ICE tho.
Maybe they figure by 2028 we will be fewer in number and wont have to reprogram us to accept their pastel colored Barbie cars.

Electrics can make a ton o torque and have instantaneous throttle response, plus they have the potential to be VERY quick.so there's that...... ;)
No sound, no glory. A thumping, cackling, eight cylinders on race gas is my music.

True, and not enough "green" infrastructure to support it without a buttload of nuclear energy

Right now if we are out tooling about in our antique F em all hot rods and aren't toting a phone we are off the grid. Enjoy this moment because it may not last.

I like to drive mine any day I want to.
Like on a Monday, or perhaps a Tuesday, maybe Wednesday, why not on Thursday?, Happy hour Friday!, and yes Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting.
Life is too short to limit a gas motor.
Electric pollutes in many ways.
Well,my plan is to drive my POS Toyota into the ground and then buy a more evolved (hopefully)version of the electric car.It will be a practical disposable appliance, like a toaster oven or something,to be used up and sold or discarded. The Shelby I will never sell,it is "different"....The Shelby is by far the coolest thing I own, including my house...An electric car ,and for that matter a toaster oven, will never be "cool" IMHO...Apples and oranges...Damn I loves me some American automotive history! ;D
