Title: Parking Brake Switch
Post by: Grouper Trooper on March 07, 2021, 05:11:01 PM
How does the parking brake switch actually work? I assumed the arm contacting the metal parking brake bracket completed a ground. But the only wire to the switch is the green/red stripe which powers the bulb in the IP. does the switch go bad?

Thanks

First, what is the  problem.
Brake bulb doesn't illuminate when you apply parking brake ? Or ?

Note that brake and parking brake switch wires are both  green and red. The terminal for parking brake switch has rubber around it.

No power to bulb when parking brake applied. wiring harness has not been compromised, the proper rubber booted wire is attached to the switch terminal. Thanks

Still curious on how it actually functions, or, how is it feeding power to the bulb?
