Title: Early “small letter cobra intake” s1ms or no?
Post by: sfm5s081 on April 07, 2021, 06:06:48 PM
For the early, Venice cars (+\- 100), does the small letter Intake have the s1ms stamped on it? Or is that for later cars?

Thanks

Few cars received aluminum intakes from new. Most were cast iron. Which number car are you referring to?

I'm car #81 currently running Webber downdrafts. Might want to shelf the original if I find the right one.

I'm sorry, I thought you were asking about Cobras, not GT350's ;) I let someone else answer your question.

Early Venice cars' intakes were over-the-counter small letter COBRA without the S1MS designation.  I can't say for sure that all 100 were that way but 071 doesn't have it and owners of the early cars I've conversed with say likewise.

Hope this can be of some help, the two versions that seem to be being discussed - I can delete if it's not helping.

Thanks JD! Problem solved. I even asked Jim Murietta about this and he wasn't sure. "We weren't too concerned with the little details, we were concerned with building the cars." Wealth of knowledge on this board
