Title: In search of 1968 gt350
Post by: imming1965 on May 26, 2021, 09:41:19 PM
I have a friend of mine that is looking to find the location and current own of her fathers 1968 GT350. Its probably going to be hard to find but I figured I would try here and see what we might come up with.
The original color was sunlight gold, it was purchased used in Pennsylvania,  possibly Willow Grove.
It was wrecked in the rear in early 1976 in Moline, Illinois. Sold to private individual. Last seen in Bettendorf, Iowa in the early 80's at a small car dealership. Last known color was dark green. It had welded on traction bars.
I know it not much to go on but let's see what we can do.

Sent you a pm

With a little more info, I should be able to give you the serial number

Looks like an early, saddle interior car

Which transmission? Did it have AC?

That's actually quite a bit of info and the vintage photos are terrific - thanks for posting those.

Good luck!

That last picture it looks crunched in the rear end. The rear valance is folded up under the rear exposing more of the exhaust. Backup lights are facing downward.  Looks like the trunk weatherstrip is hanging down on both sides or possible bungee cords. Maybe a Datsun 240 or 260z ran under the back of it in 76

One of the reasons the club is so great is because of things like this, with just a few pictures the superb experts we have were able to narrow it down to a possible car.
I can't believe any other club has such great resources of information
Each time I read one of these posts I feel like I know more, just not as much as others
Thanks to those who contribute

Coralsnake, Tlea, Bob Gaines and a few others are the glue that hold this place together.
