Turned to Stone by the Electric Light Orchestra. (This one really takes me back to high school.)
Anyone else have a preferred driving song to make you hit the gas?
Dancing on your grave by Motörhead works...... >:(
Radar Love works for me.
"ALL"
Anything by "The Doors"
Move on up, Curtis Mayfield.
Rockin Down the Highway. The Doobies
I Can't Drive 55 by Sammy Hagar with a little AC DC mixed in for variety.
Craig R.
"Born to run" by EmmyLou Harris https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPq4LGzBVV0
Dire Staits. Only after midnight though in the car by myself. Lots of driving base to keep me awake.
^ there are some Emilou Harris' qualify at that too but Linda Ronstadt, Cristal Gale, Bonnie Raitte, and even Juice Newton...they just make me their bitch.
Of course there is no one in the car but me so no one needs to know. ;)
...it's the keyboards and Git-tar...sure it is. ::)

Sung by White Lion..... 8)
Check out the 69 in the video version-

I think its called the 8v - BIG BLOCK BOOGIE. Sung by a large old guy that cant carry a tune ;D... Late at night listening to the wail of open exhaust, solid lifters, and the distinct sound of a 4 speed rowing thru the gears bouncing off buildings, houses, and rolling hillsides is as good now as it was 40 years ago! NO stereo system, the car makes its own sweet sounds.
In my 70s I'm still stuck in the 60s so anything from that time period.
On long road trips, the Pink Floyd albums The Wall and Dark Side of the Moon.
"Rusty Old American Dream" by David Wilcox
or
"Rambling Man" by the Allman Brothers
When starting the car and letting it warm up: "Start Me Up", Rolling Stones;
Easing out o the garage and down the neighborhood or at cruise night parking lot: "Slow Ride", Foghat;
At speed, or better, on the highway: "I Can't Drive 55", Sammy Haggar;
Track time: "Going The Distance", Cake.
8)
John Sandford's Prey series character Lucas Davenport had a list of "road trip" songs
I collected them on one trip (those I had, not all) and it was a pretty good mix

Two Tickets to Paradise by Eduardo Money
There we where heading south into the keys on a long weekend many moons ago. Dennis driving his road runner and me sitting shot gun. We get to his girlfriend's gated and secured complex. Check point Charlie does not let us in because it's after midnight. We are running, after a few words with CC he says he is calling the sherrif. We start leaving, Dennis yells at the guard "hey do you have a match ?" The guards yells back NO !
Dennis yells back "well I do...my a$$ and your face" proceeds to light up the road runners tires, we exit. Soon we are on the old 7 mile bridge attempting to find a place to stay. Now Dennis was a bit on the happy side and gently kisses the bridge creasing the passenger side quarter panel, poops. Still on the 7 mile bridge, Dennis decides to make a u turn, oh no !
Well he does and on the way back we meet FHP doing a road sobriety test. We are stopped. FHP trooper says boys where y'all heading?
We tell him our story, meeting girlfriends, couldn't get in to site. FHPshakes his head, says drive safely and let's us go. Slept in the car by the beach, morning came and the mosquitoes had withdrawn half our blood. True short story of what happened

James Dean by the Eagles - one of my favorites
"Burn" by Deep Purple.
"Bang a Gong" by T-Rex.
Red Barchetta by Rush. Especially the live version from late 70's that starts with "this is a song about a car!!!!" Burned in memory...
Don't Cry by Guns n Roses...for obvious reasons. Tried to play it on my phone today while driving the Hertz but couldn't hear it over the exhaust with the window down.

Anyway, Welcome to the forum ;D
Definitely Chapter Doof from Mad Max: Fury Road. I sometimes listen while driving home from work. Makes the drive so much more dramatic and exciting.
