I just used the Scott Drake reproduction. It works fine.

Dipsticks are not digital high tech rocket science. They in fact are rather rudimentary stone age devises.

You want the oil level to be "about right".

The caution on any Ford that uses a closed crankcase system is siphoning oil out of the valve covers into the intake manifold.

On a "long trip", check your oil level every time you stop for gas. They will suck the oil out of the pan on a long cruise.

Both marked engineering numbers were used. Both sticks are the same length and marked the same in relation on the stick . Twist in the metal on the stick of the C8-C is the apparent reason for engineering number change. Flat vs bell was a vendor thing and both were used .
