The good new cars and trucks are again being shipped to dealers. The bad most do not run due to the ongoing chip shortage. Ford was running out of space and decided the dealers can store them and stick the ECUs etc in when they become available. So go buy that new car it may run someday.
Ford let slip their 2022 NASCAR Mustang is a Hybrid........
NASCAR also has a problem with the next gen spec chassis. If failed the crash test bad enough to kill the crash dummy.
So...how will they get all the non-running vehicles onto all of the trains and trucks, for delivery? An extra thousand or so Teamsters to help push?

That was my question - Probably some type of electric dolly to load. The answer I got from my dealer friend on unloading was "that's the lot boys problem".

Rip the electronics out and throw a carburetor on that engine.

... otherwise gonna need a huge "catcher's mitt" as one of those 3-ton pick-em-ups rolls down off the top level on the haulers :o
Wouldn't that portable car mover have a chip in it?

Yes but probably a modern off the shelf one. Part of Ford's problem is they are still using old chip architecture and most manufactures have thrown that process out and scrapped the equipment leaving few suppliers to fill their needs.

Might be hard to push/pull without dollies if the ECU controls putting the vehicle into neutral.
I have had new cars with everything installed that would not roll /start / come out of gear/ and you could not release the parking brake rendering them a very large paper weight for 6 months . This will be a disaster FYI/ lets make the dealers store and build our cars while they finance them on their floor plan . great

Henry is in drivers seat here. Their contracts with the dealers say they will take X number of vehicles per month. I'd wager the contracts didn't foresee this problem and state they must be running. Probably once they hit the dealer they will have to diagnose why they don't run and submit a request to Ford for warranty work and parts.
