Looking for this fitting for a 67 500 C6. Sealed with an o-ring.
Never seen an o ring seal, should be 1/8npt
The later AOD/AOD-E used that o-ring type fitting, I agree I also have never seen that on a C-6.
Usually has this 90 degree fitting but maybe cooling lines are not original.
6768 uses that straight in fitting. The 90° fitting came in to play very late 68 and into 69
Tim, any ideas on where to find one?
I have a couple V6 parts transmissions around. Let me look my day and see if any have that feeling.
Hey Rick, I checked and I have no fittings

Like this?
On a C6 the rear one has a 90 degree fitting like that while the front one is straight and just adapts the screw thread on the case to reverse flare thread found on the fitting.

Rick what is your email? I'll send you a picture of one I have.
Thanks

Rick ,
I have one. PM address.
Randy
Ok, so I got bored offshore and looked through a few supplier catalogs for hydraulics.
Cheapest and easiest for this assuming 1/8npt to 5/16 tubing:
Straight fitting:

Thanks Randy!
Drew, I don't think they are NpT threads....

The dozen or so c6s I've rebuilt were npt. Maybe Shelby cars used something different?
My Galaxie and F100 both run full roller c6s I built. Both run AN hose, I used 1/8npt x -6 with no issue.
Check the one you get from Randy, curious about it.
Thanks

All of the Shelby auto transmissions and fittings were the same as the equivalent regular Mustang .

Yes on late 68 and newer. Not 67- most 68
Might be just to have something to use look up "o-ring boss fittings" or "SAE o-ring boss fittings" in industrial supply company catalogs. They are common in high pressure hydraulic systems with adapters to almost anything you can imagine. There also British and metric versions available.
The pics Matt sent of one he removed from a 67 GT 500 is exactly what I'm looking for...
These came from a '67 390GT that I parted out. I checked thread pitch with my Snap On pitch gage. It shows 18 TPI fits perfectly. I tried a Morse 9/16" X 18 NF die and it fits perfectly on both.
Thanks Royce. The one on the right is it.
