Title: Bronze 67 Mustang
Post by: BGlover67 on April 22, 2018, 11:34:14 AM
I saw this car at a local show on Saturday.  The owner told me he bought it from the original owner and it has 48,000 original miles.  It had one repaint a few years ago.  I thought you all might like to see it since bronze is such a rare color to find out in the wild.

I do think they took some liberties with the shade as the original color isn't as nice as this.  Perhaps JD will post the pic he has of a similar car they did the same sort of thing with.  Still, it was great to see it.

Hi Brian, thanks for sharing the photo. Didn't we see a 67 Shelby at SAAC 42 in that color? Really rare and cool color.

Yes Denny, we actually had two bronze cars there.  Car 85 and 78.  85 is still painted bronze, but 78 is currently red.  You can see them here:

I like the modern interpretation of both of these colors.

Deeper color appears much more rich.

Looks sharp.

How far [on the color spectrum] is that from the gold color?

Looks like they customized the shade a bit, looks like 67 Ford Color of Burnt Amber, my 67 Fairlane 500 is that color, it's certainly isn't as "colorful" as this Mustang is.

I think I like it more on a Mustang than on a Shelby.....either way, it is very unique.

Interesting. The original color looks almost flesh tone in this pic.

When I was 17, we ordered a 67 Bronze Coupe with the 390 and 4-speed...non GT car!  It had 8 track power steering, brakes and A/C [dad said I could not order is without A/C so I just took the belt off].  I wish I could find it as I shall NEVER forget the day the car came in and I picked it up.  I still have the delivery receipt from the leasing company.  IT was a BLAST to drive for a 17 year old kid!!!

#78 is a bronze car, and yep, it was painted red ions ago.
I sold it too the current owner in the 90's sometime.
With respect,
