Title: CSX 2201 at Goodwood Revival this weekend
Post by: gbart14 on September 16, 2021, 10:07:08 AM
CSX2201 formerly owned by our friends Bob and Gail Parker here at SAAC Northwest will be competing at Goodwood Revival this weekend. It will carry No. 94 and will be driven by Bobby Verdon-Roe & Martin Brundle. This car was known as the most driven Cobra in the Pacific Northwest when the late Bob Parker owned it. There is quite a lot of detail on its restoration and prep for Goodwood on Facebook. Search: "Shelby-Cobra CSX 2201".

The fast cars are a real hand full but driven hard and well.  Interesting how the sanctioning organization has limited the tyres.  Even "back in the day" Shelby had the Cobras on better tyres than those skinny Dunlops.

Period correct - for England.

The feeling is that by using vintage Dunlops (or even Avon's for that matter) levels the " playing field" somewhat as the field of cars consists of a wide variance in Horsepower. Kind of a modern day equivalent of the current BOP (balance of power) so prevalent in F1, LeMans series, etc.  :-\
