2 owner car that spent its entire life 10 minutes from my house. Put away in late 80's. Restored couple years back. Blast to drive.
Great looking car. Do you know if the louvered hood was original to the car?
As far as we know it was added shortly after purchase. Probably was all that was available from Shelby or wanted to try and solve overheating issues that were common. Either way a car with mid Jan build date would not have had louvered hood from factory. All early pictures of car from original owner show louvered hood.
Welcome!! Lime Gold with parchment interior...nice!! 👍
Very nice, looks like you are in a Shelby rich environment!
Welcome and she's a beauty !
Cool car.welcome.!
Nice color combination. Welcome aboard!
Welcome to the forum, great car, I really like parchment interiors !
Any chance of seeing some of those early photos ?
Really good looking car - congratulations!!
Very cool enjoy & you won't see that color combo at another car show.
According to records #682 had non-louvered hood when completed at Shelby American.

Reply number 2 by the new owner seemed to put that question to bed already.
Very nice. Congratulations! I've never seen that combination before.
Sounds like a beast!
Quoting Kermit: it ain't easy being green.
Anyway, nice looking car. Now, who snuck that T-pan under the engine?
Very Beautiful car!!! Congrats
We did make some upgrades to the rotating assembly. Roller cam/Roller rockers / balanced - blueprinted. Made mid 400s at the crank on dyno
Congratulations and love the color
How many cubic inches and what is the compression ratio? What have been done to the heads and are you using stock ones?
Roy
Sleeved all 8 cylinders back to stock bore. Stroked crank. Don't know exact cubic inches, but I think it's around 468. Compression is 10.5/1 or close about. Designed to run on pump gas. I have original heads but we are running 68 cobra jet heads that were ported and polished. Roller top and bottom. It runs very strong but keeps a stock look.
Welcome to the crazy world of SAAC, and some crazy opinionated sumbitches. At least its never boring around here. I for one love your car with the right look, stance, and some extra ponies under the hood. Dont just say hello and leave, we NEED some fresh faces around here.!

+1, and welcome aboard
Great car! I like the Lime over Parchment. Welcome to the gang.
Welcome! I have 683, also parchment interior, but Brittany Blue. Nearing the end of the long, dark tunnel of a rotisserie Resto.

Did you mean to say mid 500hp? I have a 302ci engine with 10 to 1 compression a good cam and 2x4's that's making exactly 400hp so mid 400's seems awfully low to me especially for 468 cubes.
Roy
Not all dyno readings are the same. Depends on the dyno being used. Some give a more generous reading and others can hurt your feelings. I feel mid - higher 400's is about right. A 427 would make more power. This reading on a 428 with upgrades mentioned is where it should be.
Is it just me, or..... did SAI have a run on parchment interiors in the 0675 to 0725 range...... ?

Yes, DSO 2536 (of 105 cars - all BB 4-spds - which that range of cars was in) included 73 cars with parchment interiors.
DSO 2538 (also BB, 4-spds) 57 of 61 cars were Parchment
DSO 2539 (BB, Auto) 14 of 15 cars were Parchment
DSO 2540 (BB, Auto + Thermactor) 16 of 18 cars were Parchment
A total of 257 units were built with parchment trim/interior.
Only 20 were GT350s. The majority were Big Blocks ('BB' as JD mentioned, also an acronym for Brittany Blue)
The Shelby VIN sequence range was much wider than 0675-0725. However,
Ford SJ build dates for parchment trim was limited to January 1967 until March 1967 with one unit exception in May.
Typically each DSO was built with the same engine/trans package and trim color. They only varied in paint colors.
There were a few DSO exceptions as JD noted above. Those were DSO 84-2534, 2536, 2538, & 2540
(An SRG topic lists the in depth details)

JD, all 15 units in DSO 84-2539 had parchment trim.
The serial number range I made mention of, was just my limited observations by memory........
Welcome to the group. I just finished restoration on #706.
