Title: Wheel Restoration
Post by: Dunerider777 on April 25, 2018, 09:20:32 PM
I would like to find out if anybody knows of a good place in or near California to have a set of original magnum 500 wheels for my 66 GT350H restored.
Thank you.

Hi   Dunerider777,

I have heard Stockton Wheel Service Inc. can restore these wheels.  Last I had checked they get $350 a wheel.  If you call them, please let us know what you learn.

Go to http://www.stocktonwheel.com/index.html or call 800-395-9433 or 209-464-7771

I had a set of original wheels restored by Wheels Vintiques some time ago.  It was two years before I got them back. Good thing I was not in a hurry.  They might still restore these wheels, but you have been advised, they might take a long time.  I also think they are the supplier for the repop wheels, so they may no longer restore them. Give them a call and find out and let us know.

Go to http://www.stocktonwheel.com/index.html or call 800-959-2100

Best of luck

Thanks

Cory

Im not sure they rechrome the original out rim shells.  you might ask them before sending wheels.

I was told that Wheel Vintiques sold to Coker.

Everything they made is on massive back order as things get swapped over.

I had a set of 14 x 6 Hertz Magnums restored a few years ago by Pico wheel in California.  They have been been in business since the 1920's and know what they are doing. Reasonable turnaround time, not inexpensive but the work was outstanding.

Curt McKim at MeWheels does Magnum 500 restorations using (replating) your original rim shells.  I do not have his most recent contact info but it is out there via google I think.
