I'm looking for a parts car with good original floors. A 67-68 Coupe body shell or full floor pan already removed will work if correct for 67.
Willing to arrange shipping etc
PM if you have what I'm looking for
Remember that there is an earlier and later version (changed during 67 production) of the 67 floor pans as well as stamping date if those details matter for the end result.
And of course there was an earlier change in the 65-66 period
I'm having a hard time considering foreign steel replacement floor. If a car is judged what would be worse: wrong sheet metal date or replacement floor? If I'm lucky enough to find the correct 67 donor car what was the cutoff date when the change happened? Is 65 - 67 (before the change) all the same stamping? We're starting the project this winter and if a OE floor is not found what is the best alternative?
...one other thing to be aware of if you have to go the new replacement route is that some of the brackets spot welded to the underside of the floor pan are not or may not be there so you'll need to transfer your originals to the new and spot weld accordingly.
This may also be the case in adjusting any replacement match your original.
All my brackets are inplace so transfer wont be a problem. Worst thing is the tunnel was cut open for a racing shifter back 67.
Looks like I have the first design change with reinforcement just prior to frame rail and not the rear area.
My Friend Harland stamps out correct oem style pans for West Coast Cougar and Mustang. See if he has any to sell.
