Maybe put the toupee' on Velcro? That would work for a convertible too? Best move to higher ground though? Florida is going to get washed away sometime soon...or fall into a sink hole?

Funny you should mention that, sinkhole occur up N Florida. Down south you are correct in the next 20/30 years it certainly will be different

But let's get back to todays weather currently 83 where I am at

How about you, you near the 80s ?

62 clear and sunny. It's been sunny and mid '60s all week. Nice crisp fall type air. The cars love this kind of weather and run noticeably crisper.

After attempting to work with water injection, I came to the conclusion that more water vapor in the air, i.e., higher humidity, reduces the amount of oxygen to the fuel mixture and you loose power. Quite a bit.

Florida humidity doesn't help anything and acts almost like water injection.

The NHRA drag racers would always talk about "bad air" at the New Orleans Nationals.

Malaria. Italian for bad air.

There is more then something to it.

Our version of sink holes are huge pot holes that appear on elevated highways.

One just happened on the Queens BQE last week.

Many years ago I saw a VW Bug fall through the pavement at the north 125st exit on the West Side Highway.

As a teen I learned to reconnoiter the situation as much as possible. Things still can appear like Viet Cong booby traps.

You can't be a tourist here walking around staring at the tall buildings. You'll never make it out alive. You are just "sheep amongst the wolves", as in "behold, I send you out as sheep amongst the wolves".

Definitely something to advise newbies here about.  ;)

37F here with cloudy skies.  Good weather for walking. Lots of Autumn leaves carpeting the streets and sidewalks.  My favorite time of year.

The leaves are only beautiful because you don't have to pick them up and bag them.

By the time I'm done, there will be about 100 bags of them. I can stack those up to make a beautiful display of bags. Hum. Sure. ::)

Actually I do have to pick them up and bag them.  I am surrounded by deciduous trees though only a conifer grows on my property.  I put a positive spin on it since raking and bagging leaves is an activity that burns calories and exercises various muscles and therefore makes me stronger for it.  I grumble a bit at the beginning, but once I start, it's all good.

The Fire Department doesn't have subpoena power here, they just write you a ticket with a hefty fine. No need for a grand jury. You are guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

There are spots where you actual can witness  four hurricane blowers all full throttle at the same time and the combination is so loud you can't hear the emergency vehicles.

Flushing Meadows Park in Queens, behind where Citi Field is located (Mets) as well as Arthur Ashe Stadium (tennis) was once a huge pit. It was filled with NYC leaves. 893 acres of them.

It was also the local of the 1939 and 1964 World's Fair where I first saw the '65 Mustang.

Although there are lots of scenic fall views now the nice "country roads" are often very slick with wet leaves and your W rated tires aren't designed for them and will resign even simple corners.

Design a mulching pit?  Sounds like too many leaves for such a pit to accommodate.

Sure if you don't mind the "timber rats"? Seems they love these big piles to nest in. I had one running around here the size of a racoon.

I've got 20 bags out already and still about 50% of the leaves to come down yet and about another 20 bags to get packaged before tomorrows pick up.

Yea. The leaves are beautiful.

Rain washes the carbon out of the atmosphere. Over time forms limestone. It doesn't keep the schmucks off the road though. The "Schmuck meter" is well over 50% here.

Even the pot holes don't get rid of them.

Our home in Miami is a two (cbs) story and that area is also well above sea level and it has never flooded in some pretty wet storms

Still upper 70s low 80s down here,  let me take a current picture for you so you can partially enjoy my day

Been down there for a long time, bought them right.  Used and rented them out, actually some saac members have stayed in them and let's just say they stayed very economically and where extremely happy with the accommodations and how centric it was to restaurants, shops, fueling, essentially you felt like you where on the mainland.

Although we usually jest about  every topic including weather and the global climate is changing rapidly, living down there we have experienced tidal changes  and they are not getting any better. In the next 15 to 20 years some will loose their homes,  won't be able to sell or a buyer will not be able to finance or acquire insurance. Twenty years and beyond who knows what the island chain will look like.

I've always thought those houses on stilts out in the ocean were cool. But being a Yankee I'd have to go for this one.
I have always found it difficult to keep up my hermit existence in a tract home.

I suppose that it is true that most presume that things will stay the way that they always were? I think that maybe "Americans" are the most presumptuous of all?

I never feel comfortable being way out in the water, even on an island. Consider the city of Venice though. It's true that there was apparently a compulsion to build out over the water but they have been experiencing rising water levels for several hundred years.

There are people that love that. So if that change comes slowly enough to the "Keys", that probably will be fine.

I'd be more concerned with being stuck out there when that body painting festival happens and someone wants to strip me down and paint me. Even if that happened, there should be NO record of that! ::)

I definitely am not waxing!  8)

What are "these" words you mention: snow, tornadoes,  houses flying, sink holes?

By the way met this gal named Glenda, just relocated from Kansas to FL  what a doll !

Careful! She is not a she. He's a she. Don't eat anything it gives you. You'll be flying too?

Keep looking up. You don't want anyone to drop a house on you?  8)

You may be right on those keywords though. They may have been banned in Florida?

It's about 70 where I am now.

The Zigfield Estate is about 2 miles from me.  I know the story. I personally try not to dwell on the dead's past physical attributes but whatever gets you through the night?  ::)

Holy moly this has to be some type of conspiracy !

We have a saying "que to coja confesado" translates loosely to "when it's your time,  hopefully you have confessed all your sins"

Live by it, when it's time to go,  you go

Yes but you can skate on the lake. In Florida they think ice skates are for the sausage fest where you dance on the pork to grind it up. Complete ignoramuses.

I hear your house isn't worth a lick if you don't have one. A very progressive program.

Don't agree the pool adds value. Probably the value added is what ever you paid to add the pool.

I think a home with four to five bedrooms increases value, people like two stories,  no septic tanks, two car garage minimum, adequate backyard for entertainment, open concept type kitchen, granite counter tops, stainless appliances and sinks, large driveway, a resort type backyard , of course water front, proximity to restaurants, malls, points of interest,  access to main highways and most important than everything mentioned is location, location, location. All these will comand a higher premium.

Forget the pool thats a personal choice, what you put in you will get back with probably very little appreciation if any.
