What are you calling "triple web reinforcing"? This is my A block. 7E31.
It was just the current evolution of 428 blocks at that point. The cast in gussets have nothing to do with reinforcing the mains. They are supports for the pan rails.
You would need to tie those to the main caps like 427 blocks have to have any effect and that isn't terribly significant at all. A girdle tying that all together is a different story.
This is the area with the extra support.

:o Sorry, I'm a little slow sometimes (most of the time actually ::) ) and maybe I missed it, so I'm just checking, but is this meant to be 'dry-humor' ? :-\

Gussets are the triangular pieces that project up the sides from the caps. They are just supporting the sides of the block, not the caps. ;D
The additional internal ribs which later became standard on the C scratch blocks are fully acknowledged by retired Ford Engine engineers as "re enforcing ribs" added for "torsional rigidity" on increased power output engines. Cross bolting as Doug referred to was done ( mainly 427 blocks) for long distance extended high rpm use where the harmonic levels in the narrow RPM band "shook" the main webs to the point of failure. (read NASCAR) This wouldn't happen in a passenger car because of the lower rpm/ power output not causing the harmonic.
