Title: Looking for a track car. FP350s, Boss 302s, FR500, vintage, ect.......
Post by: QuickSilverShelby on January 27, 2022, 08:28:38 PM
Hi all,

I'm looking for a track car.  Preferably a 2017/18 FP350s, a 2012/13/14 Boss 302S or R, a FR500S/FR500C or I'd consider a 60 vintage racer.   Obviously I'm on the hunt for a Ford track car.  Anybody know of someone selling one or one tucked away that might be available?  PM me please.

Thanks

QSS

I have a friend with a 1997 Mustang Cobra that won it's class that year and several years after. I don't know much about it but can find out. He has moved on from that car and racing a modern Mustang now.

Thanks Rick.  The car sounds cool but I'm looking for something more modern.

Without knowing your budget, there are several options on the site Racingjunk. Here's one with spares, etc:

Don't count out the TA2 cars - https://www.racingjunk.com/trans-am-ta-ta2/184256355/mike-cope-racing-ford-mustang-ta2-road-race-car.html?category_id=5900&np_offset=6

You could wait a couple years and pick up one of the new NASCAR spec racers. They are basically what ran in the mid 1980s TransAm series (except for the IRS).
Being a mass produced spec chassis with many common body panels the used prices for crashed/fixed ones will certainly be affordable.

Oh yes, I have been lusting over that GT4 for weeks now.  THAT, is one amazing track car.  I just gotta screw up my courage to call the owner.  It's well within the budget but I'm afraid if I make that call I might own it and that's not a bad thing.  I'm really not sure what's holding me back.
