Title: Torq Thrust wheels racing lug nuts, purchase.
Post by: agravenc on April 26, 2022, 03:04:17 AM
Greetings.
I wish to purchase a set of racing lug nuts for Torq Thrust wheels but been unsuccessful with my searches. One would think this would be a non issue procuring a set. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Lug Nut Specifications: Shank style 1/2 - 20 thread, open end, hex head approximately 2.0 inch length.
Thanks for your help!

Talking is not the problem - but for me the shipping/handling/customs/import tax simply made no sense just for some nuts. All the other parts I could want from them I already had... 8) ;D

There seems to be some significant detail missing here? If you are asking where to find them and you are in some other location then the North American continent, it probably would help the discussion to state your location?  ;)

I honestly don't know where you would find them in Albania.

That has all been described and then solved on page one of my link above (although it did go on for another two pages without me ;D ).  Maybe you do confuse me with the initial poster above ?
I simply wanted to help him, since my question had been thoroughly answered. Was that wrong ?

Hey guys, let’s be cordial.
Thank you ShelbyDoug for the link. CobraAutomotive have the exact lug nuts I was looking for. I had to check the price, $300, twice. I find it hard to believe that they are the only supplier for these lug nuts.

Not in the past but maybe now. I remember years ago when I was looking for a set there were at least half a dozen that carried them that easily came up and probably more that I never knew about. Those sources have ether stopped carrying them for what ever reason, closed up or passed away.  They are apparently not widely popular enough anymore for them to be carried by many places. There is probably someone somewhere that carries a version like Cobra Automotive . Hopefully you can search and search and find another at a lower price. Before you spend a lot of time searching you may want to consider what your time and anxiety level is worth before dismissing the Cobra Auto price. Best of luck on your search.

Yup. About as expensive as a '67 GT500 thermostat housing.

I actually have a set sitting here doing nothing but considering what it would cost to replace them, they're staying here. Maybe they were 25 or 30 bucks?

Jim Cowles had a bunch made up out of stainless bar stock about 30 years ago selling them for I think $5 each. You didn't want to ask him about them. He would get very upset. The machinest kept holding him up for more money.

The stainless is a better way to go cosmetically as the original set that I have is silver cad plated and black water spots easily.

I think I saw the "Honda guys" making them up out of aluminum bar stock?

Hi Bob, I’ll take your advise and bite the bullet.
Or, as the dialogue in the old commercial went “You can pay me now or you can pay me later”. It’s only money!

Thanks everyone for your help.

You will never know when they are no longer available at all new.
