Title: T-shirt artwork
Post by: roddster on May 19, 2022, 11:23:55 AM
Just wondering, what is the design on the T-shirt this convention?

What happened in 1962 to  commemorate? 50 years gets us to 1972 when Shelby had retired to Africa so maybe it's time to drag out the Zebra stripped GT350 safari car again. 40 years we're into the MoPile years and no one wants to see that. 1992 Shelby wasn't doing hot Mustangs so maybe we'll see the first t-shirt with a SAAC car on it. 2002 would cover the Series 1 cars but the Olds engine would kill that. As far as 2012 who wants to see a current car? Let TS use those. I shouldn't even go to 2022 with the Shelby Mustang Mach-E.

This year's shirts will be an empty gas tank, empty wallet, and a gas pump, with an image of a thirsty FE behind.

Wrong, wrong, wrong, this year shirt will honor the 69 / 70s that where not recognized (due to pandemic) but also will bring in the African safari theme to honor Doctor Shelbys expedition

The shirt will have this very unique 1 of 1 red Shelby with the "strapadeer" or in Dr Shelbys case "strapazebra" option on its hood.

This particular shirt undoubtedly will be the most collectible convention shirt in SAAC history.

We urge you to place your order today before they are all sold out.

Make sure you can see that Sticker of Biden on the Gas Pump pointing to the Price with the words "I Did That".

Or they could use the Ford V Ferrari GT-40 movie cars. Those all had LS engines.

Not necessarily the T-shirt artwork, but the T-shirt may be something similar.   This was posted by the artist Lawrence Gardinier on facebook.

https://www.autoweek.com/car-life/events/a1903321/shelby-built-jet-powered-1325-hp-indy-car-cross-block-mecum-monterey/

In 1967, an STP Oil car nicknamed the "Wooshmobile" missed winning the Indy 500 after a $6 transmission bearing failed. Soon after, the car's designer, Ken Wallis, approached Carroll Shelby with a plan for the 1968 race. Shelby arranged funding and started working with Wallis to rework his design.

Anybody know who he tapped for this deal? Ford was no longer slipping blank checks under the door and I can't see Goodyear and Botany 500 footing the whole tab.
